The Living Word of God

A reflection on the statement of Jesus that man does not live by bread alone but by the Word of God. Living by the Word of God begins with the reality of God speaking to us through the Scriptures (prophets, apostles) and through Jesus. We face a decision of whether we will listen to the Word God speaks to us, giving His Word priority over our own word, and leading us to obedience and action. Our obedient response to the Word of God is evidence that we have heard Him.
